Oklahoma 49 - Houston 31 (ESPN Recap)

The only Sunday night regular season game of the year was a bit of an odd tailgate experience since it was a night game and there were no games to watch during the tailgate. Multiple groupings of MAGA fans were watching re-runs of the Georgia / Vandy game from yesterday for whatever reason...

I walked around campus a bit and then headed up to Campus Corner before the game. Cornhole was all over the place which was fun. I ended up meeting up with a really nice family that mostly moved to New England and took me into their cornhole, “sooner special,” and hot dog tailgate. Mollie P wins as nicest Sooner fan in attendance. Congrats to her on her recent marriage and home purchase up in MA.

Memorial Stadium has free wifi that works which is incredible. Deserves a standalone sentence.

The fans in-game were really loud... top 5. And Jalen Fucking Hurts was really good, throwing for 3 tds and rushing for 3tds while managing the game with ease. Other than one fumble at mid field on a 20 something yard scramble, he played a flawless game. Felt like this was the 5th or 6th time I’ve seen him play live at QB. Loved seeing Houston cover the 24.5 point spread, 2H +13.5, and the 2H TTO 10.5.

There was a repeat conversation I had at least four times when asked if this was my first game I had been to in the state of Oklahoma. The answer was always “no” and I told them about the Bedlam in Stillwater I went to in 2013 which ended with a Q4 go-ahead TD by the Sooners with 19 seconds left. The response was “oh we won?!… yeah that’s usually the case when we play them.”

Tulsa is last up to complete the trifecta within the state.

Flying home to FL now though. I have already been to the stadium FKA Papa John’s Stadium (#MeToo), so no need to see the Notre Dame @ Louisville Monday night game tomorrow.
