Tuscaloosa, AL
Bryant-Denny Stadium November 4, 2017 Alabama 24 – LSU 10 (ESPN Recap)

Pretty excited to make it to Tuscaloosa for game. Didn’t hurt it was against their SEC West rival LSU for a night game while the Tide was #2 in the CFP standings. Appreciate my former coworker Tony making the trip from Cali to join for our third CFB game together (SEE #4 Oregon and Rose Bowl XXX). Met Billy B Friday night at one of the nice restaurants on University whose name I cannot remember. Hit up Houndstooth at one point that night as well.

Tailgate scene in T-Town was unreal. The entire town is one large tailgate. We hit Gallettes for a yellow hammer, rocked Bama stickers, said a lot of “Roll Tide” and “RTR” to strangers.
Then we saw the tide roll.
Jalen Hurts was the field general and winner Bama seems to always have under center. Hurts had big Bo to hand the ball to and an embarrassingly good WR core led by Calvin Ridley (the next Amari/Julio). DJ Chark put up some big plays down field for LSU but it was the suffocating defense of probably all future All Pro players at every position, limiting LSU to 10 points and just 5 first downs.
A cool tradition that Bama fans have taken ownership of is the Lynyrd Skynyrd song "Sweet Home Alabama," where the insert "Roll Tide, Roll" at the end of each chorus (video below).
Enjoyed a walk down frat row after the game to wait for Uber surcharges to chill out. The street had a historic feel to it... but almost in a bad way. Beautiful architecture…big money, and maybe a not so great past if we dial it back 100 years ago.
Rank this tailgate right near the top with the FSU @ Miami tailgate. Unsurprisingly, the stadium is enormous and gorgeous. Bama has been winning a lot of football games the past decade and it doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon as long as Saban is running the program and keeping that rat posion away from his guys!
