Spectrum Stadium October 9, 2014 UCF 31 – BYU 24 (ESPN Recap)

Drove up to Orlando for a day trip to see the Thursday night showdown between UCF and BYU. I went to root against BYU who lost last week when Taysom Hill broke his leg and cost GDH a ton of money. I was rewarded with the UCF win while I yelled nonsense trash talk at the defenders who played poorly in the Utah St game.
Justin Holman threw a lot of passes for a not great QB and with Taysom hurt, Breshard Perriman was the best player on the field for either team.
It took a Q4 comeback, TD in OT and 4-down stand in OT (video of last play below) to get it done, and then I got home at 3:30am.
Pregame was fun with John H. UCF is a massive school (rumor is largest in the country at 64,000). There were a lot of fun quads and tailgates throughout our walk to the stadium. Some of the UCF students seemed nice, though there were a few questionable intelligence tailgates like the one where the guy locks his scooter to the bottom of a tent that could easily be lifted up (pictured).
My favorite part of this UCF is their special teams alignment and synchronized hoo-haa before kicking off. It’s awesome.
Off to Arkansas for a quick turnaround and a SEC West showdown in two days.
