Miami, FL FIU Stadium September 6, 2013 UCF 38 – FIU 0 (ESPN Recap)

Blake Bortles and Storm Johnson carried home the GDH win with ease. Big fan of the UCF WR corps of JJ Worton, Rannell Hall, and Breshad Perriman. First time in my life that I could hop in the car and drive 35 minutes to a division 1 FBS game. True welcoming to Florida!

FIU is the smallest stadium I have been to and the campus was pretty concrety. The student section brought a little bit of energy which I think was because they knew UCF was coming into town with some studs. It was 38-0 before the end of the third quarter. Yardage was dominated by UCF and it felt like they were 85% on 3rd down but it wasn’t that good. Rare to see GDH games live and even rarer that they are back to back live games for me.

October 3, 2014 FIU 38 – FAU 10

Drove down solo for a rivalry game. Much better environment for this one than the UCF game a year ago. Only problem was the weather was horrible and there were two rain delays (I left at the start of the second delay which was during halftime). Love the dynamic between the blue collar attitude of the FIU fans who were talking a decent amount of shit to FAU fans because of the enormous chip on their shoulder. Probably wasn’t worth the trip for a delayed start, half of a football game though.
