#5 Purdue

West Lafayette, IN

Ross-Ade Stadium October 6, 2012 Michigan 44 – Purdue 13 (ESPN Recap)

Flew into Boilermaker country to visit Tanner, join the Breakfast Club, and check out Denard Robinson’s Michigan squad come play at Ross Ade. It was worth the trip seeing Shoeless run for 235 yards! Akeem Shavers passed the eye test for Purdue, but they are on the struggle bus at QB and got outrushed 300-50.

Tour of the facilities was great and much appreciated the on-field pass to check out parts of the game. Easy to like Purdue coaches, staff and fans. They party the right way and want to win. Their train horn “Boiler Up” chant was a bit annoying throughout a 30-point loss, but if the score were reversed I could see how it would be effective to demoralize the opponent.

Purdue loves Drew Brees. Marve might think he is the second-coming of Brees…but he’s not.

Enjoyed a good selection of bars and food spots around campus: Harry’s Chocolate Shop, XXX, and all the Breakfast Club bars.

Breakfast Club is brilliant. More schools should adopt this tradition or some variation of it.
