Tiger Stadium November 3, 2018 Alabama 29 – LSU 0 (ESPN Recap)
All the hype in the world for this SEC West showdown: Night game in Death Valley. ESPN College GameDay. The “most vicious” fans in the country. Tua Joe Burrow [EDIT: this game extends my consecutive Heisman streak players seen live in college to 7-straight...though Joe was terrible in this game] Devin White Quinnen Williams Greedy Williams Fuck Williams Dylan Moses Saban Coach O #1 coming to play at #3 With the business school annual trip crew of Evan and Stephen.
Tailgates were rocking, though there was not a lot of viciousness from the LSU faithful. Cool to run into Gretchen from Houston at the quad during tailgating. Some old guy with a Santa Claus beard also hooked us up with some multi-hour-cooked-in-some-huge-cauldron Gumbo. It was amazing! Lots of cornhole played. Some frisbee-catch-a-beer game. A shotgun or two and I did a keg stand at a frat tent. The day was perfect for tailgating and football.
The anticipation to kickoff was intense: 20 minutes of hype from a raucous 102,000 fans who, like us, were really hoping for a close game. Unfortunately, we saw an Alabama shut out as the Tide scored 6 to 10 points each quarter en route to a 16-0 halftime lead and 29-0 final. The superstars were good, though the LSU fans were delusional about how good Devin White was going to be in the second half (he was suspended for the first half for targeting in the prior game). He is an All American and probable first round pick at LB. The quotes in the bathroom at halftime were "we are going to be just fine. We get Devin White back for the second-half!!!" but the problem for LSU was that they were already trailing by 16 and he doesn’t play offense…
White did finish the game with 8 tackles. Quinnen had 10 and 2.5 sacks. I screwed up and bought expensive 3rd row seats, but the first 5 rows are too low at Tiger Stadium to fully see past the player sideline. Won’t make that mistake again.
Fred’s was the bar to go to in Baton Rouge, and we heard a lot of Mo Bamba by Sheck Wes and Callin’ Baton Rouge by Garth Brooks. I won a lot of coin flip games against Evan and finished beer pong champion of the world. We found a casino somewhere which we hit up to throw dice. Mandy was there for work and we made her come to Fred’s too.
Impossible to get a ride home after that big of a game. We probably walked 3 miles.
