Doak Campbell Stadium October 27, 2018 Clemson 59 - FSU 10 (ESPN Recap)
Drunk guy in line on Friday night said it best, “Clemson is gonna beat the shit out of y’all guys tomorrow…I’m, sorry!”
Wanting to see live the team I bet on to win the National Championship at +550 and +600, it made sense to couple it with the alma mater of Sebastian, a friend from work. We knew the game would not be competitive, though to our surprise, it was 0-0 after Q1. Clemson easily covered the spread which was the bet for the game, and we actually left after Q3 ended as it escalated quickly and was 52-3.
Trevor Lawrence is the best freshman QB I have ever seen tossing 4TDs effortlessly. Looks like a NFL QB on the same path as Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck. But the Clemson D Line is even more impressive: Dexter Lawrence, Christian Wilkins, and Clelin Ferrell led a defensive effort with 14 TFL and 5 sacks. Wilkins even had a short yardage rushing TD (video below). Love the 413 connection there and his on-field leadership.
After leaving the stadium, we heard the final score and that it was the worst-ever home loss in FSU history…so we saw history!
The post-game (and Q4) tailgate was better than the pregame tailgate. Played “create” with Dan and nothing was weird about the game at all.
Bars we went to (Poor Paul's Poorhouse / Bullwinkles / Midtown bars etc).
Halloween in Tally was a good time. Lots of fun strangeness. Different than Amherst.
