Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium September 15, 2018 Texas 37 – USC 14 (ESPN Recap)
Planned the logistics perfectly on the straight shot down to Austin. Paid a bunch of money to park a couple blocks from Darrell Royal Stadium and was able to get in ~1.5 hours of tailgating for the 2006 Rose Bowl rematch. The crowd was really loud, the USC band was stuck in the upper corner of the stadium which the crowd loved, and Matthew McConaughey gets way too much jumbotron time during UT games.
Great gear from the Texas fans referencing the 2006 game. Lendale White and VY tshirts all over the place.

With a dominate Q3, Texas rolled USC and easily covered the -3. I was on the O46.5 and hit that in Q3 as well, which was good since Q4 was 0-0. The consensus is that this game is the official turning point where “Texas Football is Back!” They have their guy in Sam Ehlinger. the defense came up with tons of big stops, and most impressively held USC to -5 rushing yards for the game.
I didn’t go out on dirty 6th after the game because I felt like that would have been too much. Instead, drove to Cal’s house to catch up with him and crash in a guest room.
Successful double-header and even pulled off the wardrobe change to go dark green at Baylor and burnt orange at UT. There will be more double-headers in this pursuit!
