Colorado 44 – Cal 28 (ESPN Recap)
There is a weird sensation when you are on the campus of a school for Homecoming and have zero affiliation to the institution. No familiar bars or restaurants, no buildings on campus that bring back good and bad memories from classes or nights out, and no familiar faces or connection to the colors and mascot. That was me in Boulder for the weekend. It was cool to see all the comraderies and happiness between alums who made the trip back. CU Boulder seems like a great place to spend four years.

Lucky for me, I was able to talk CSURam into a CU game. We had box seats thanks to the University’s entrepreneurship department. The backdrop at the stadium is #1 on my list so far, eclipsing BYU from earlier this season and the Rose Bowl. Ralphie rates highly on most “CFB Tradition” lists and it was fun to watch that occur and hear all the history that goes into it. There are less and less live animal mascots involved in college football games as animal rights have picked up and it was decided it was not worth more incidents with Tigers and Alligators.
The O55.0 got a little scary with a scoreless Q3, but we got there easily in Q4. The offense for the Buffs was strong with Phillip Lindsay getting a million touches and Montez throwing the deep ball effectively to Fields, Macintyre, Shenault and Ross.
There was snow on the ground for a few hours the morning of the game, which I did not love coming from FL.
People in Colorado are just happier than other states: outdoors activities, beautiful scenery, fresh air, strong seasons. I get it!
