Blacksburg, VA
Lane Stadium November 5, 2010 Virginia Tech 28 – Georgia Tech 21 (ESPN Recap)

An amazing experience driving down from DC to Blacksburg with DZ and Handy, staying at Brown’s barracks, and attending the rocking Thursday night primetime ACC showdown in Lane Stadium. We played heavy beer pong in the parking lot pre-game and made sure to get into our seats before kickoff to soak in Enter Sandman.
Tyrod Taylor is NOT Michael Vick, and VT should have lost to a GT team that completed two passes the entire game. Lucky for Hokie Nation, David Wilson made a HUGE Q4 special teams play, housing a long punt return with under 3 minutes left in the game. Kyle Fuller had a lot of tackles for a DB that only had to defend 10 PAs the entire game.
Only having been to USC and BC before this stadium, it was far and away the loudest in-game experience I have ever been to. The stadium literally rocks back and forth during Enter Sandman, which played 2-3 more times in Q4 on critical 3rd and 4th down plays while VT was on defense. The fans take out there car keys and rattle them, making a lot of noise.
Post-game, it wasn’t about Beamer or Wilson or the fact that Georgia Tech lined up to run every play and still almost won, but rather the VT fans obsession with defensive coordinator Bud Foster. That dude gets credit for everything. It’s a bit strange.
