Not only did I get to watch #19 DJ Pumphrey play live tonight for the first time after anointing him my favorite player for the past two seasons, but he became @Pumphrey6k and the San Diego Union Tribune beat writer wrote about my journey to see him play in his recap of the game. DJ lived up the hype with highlight after highlight. The Aztecs easily covered the 1H spread I took. There was even a weird SDSU blocked XP returned for 2 by UNR that was pretty rare to see, especially for a well-coached and usually very sound ST unit at SDSU.
Archie’s bartender gave me the free ticket to the game which was pretty awesome. I posted up there for 4-5 hours drinking and watching three games live. It wasn’t quite the Venetian Sports Book, but it did the trick for the day.
All my friends that have ever followed me on Snapchat, know who DJ Pumphrey on SDSU is. I hope an NFL team drafts him and gives him a chance. He’s small, but he’s got fight!
Reno, not my favorite city at all. Need to give it another chance sometime to go there for skiing at Tahoe.
